MANAGEMENT


Jerry James, President	VCARD

Jerry is from South Zanesville, Muskingum County, Ohio, and currently resides in Washington County, Ohio. Jerry earned his Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from Marietta College in 1980 where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. Jerry currently serves as President of the Ohio Oil and Gas Association (OOGA) and previously served as chairman of the Ohio Oil and Gas Energy Education Program (OOGEEP). Jerry is a Registered Professional Engineer in Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia and Pennsylvania. He is also a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers as well as the Society of Petroleum Evaluation Engineers. Jerry has served as President of Artex Oil Company since 1995. Prior to assuming his current role, he held positions with various major oil companies in Texas, Louisiana and Wyoming, and served as a petroleum engineering consultant for James Engineering, Inc. based in Ohio.


Gene Huck, Vice President	VCARD

Gene is from Watertown, Washington County, Ohio, and currently resides in Marietta, Washington County, Ohio. Gene earned his Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from Marietta College in 1979. Gene currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Southeastern Ohio Oil and Gas Association (SOOGA) as its Past President, serves on the Project Review Committee of the Ohio Oil and Gas Association (OOGA), and is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers. Gene has served as Vice President of Artex Oil Company since 1995, and is also the Operations Manager. Prior to assuming his current role, he served as Vice President of James Engineering, Inc.


Joe Brooker, Manager - Business Development	VCARD

Joe is from Nelsonville, Athens County, Ohio. Joe earned his Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from Marietta College in 1982 and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Cincinnati in 1989. Joe serves as the Manager of Business Development for Artex Oil Company. In more recent years, Joe served as C.E.O. and Director of Storm Cat Energy Corporation, Vice President and General Counsel of Medicine Bow Energy Corporation and Vice President of Land and General Counsel of Shenandoah Energy Inc. Joe was also a member of the Vorys, Sater, Seymour & Pease LLP law firm in Columbus, Ohio from 1989 through 1997.


EXPLORATION AND PRODUCTION



Don Huck, Exploration Manager	VCARD

Don is from Watertown, Washington County, Ohio, and currently resides in Huntington, Cabell County, West Virginia. Don earned his Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from Marietta College in 1987. Don currently is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, the Ohio Oil and Gas Association (OOGA), the Kentucky Oil and Gas Association, and the Virginia Oil and Gas Association. Don previously served as a board member of the Kentucky and Virginia Oil and Gas Associations and has served on various committees. Don has served as Exploration Manager for Artex Oil Company since 2005 and is responsible for organizing exploration activities including land and geology/geophysics functions. Prior to assuming his current role, he held a position as a petroleum engineer with Dowell Schlumberger, and as Production Engineer, Production Superintendent, and Region Manager with Columbia Natural Resources.


Matt Lupardus, Reservoir Engineer	VCARD

Matt is from Vincent, Washington County, Ohio, and currently resides in Marietta, Washington County, Ohio. Matt earned his Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from Marietta College in 2004 where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and was a member of Pi Epsilon Tau – Marietta College Petroleum Engineering Honorary. Matt currently serves on the Board of Trustees and as Chairman of the Communications Committee of the Southeastern Ohio Oil and Gas Association (SOOGA), and is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, the Society of Exploration Geophysicists, the Ohio Oil and Gas Association (OOGA), and the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG). Matt has served as Reservoir Engineer for Artex Oil Company since 2008 and served as Production Engineer from 2006 to 2008. As Reservoir Engineer, Matt is responsible for seismic data interpretation and analysis, reservoir characterization, decline curve and reserves analysis, gas marketing analysis and auditing. Prior to assuming his role as Production Engineer for Artex in 2006, he held a position as Production Engineer in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma with Marathon Oil Company.


Ernie Hull, Geophysicist	VCARD

Ernie is from Bakersfield, Kern County, California and currently resides in Marietta, Washington County, Ohio. Ernie earned his Bachelor of Science in Applied Geophysics from University of California, Los Angeles in 1995 and his Master of Science in Geophysics from Colorado School of Mines in 2001. Ernie also studied at the Ural State Geology and Geophysics Academy, and Ural State University, in 2002, both located in Ekaterinburg, Russia. Ernie is a member of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) and the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG). Ernie has served as Artex Oil Company’s Geophysicist since 2009, and is responsible for all functions of geophysics, including acquisition, processing and interpretation of data. Prior to assuming his current role, he held positions with Western Geophysical and British Petroleum (BP).


Joe Snider, Drilling & Completion Engineer	VCARD

Joe is from Somerset, Perry County, Ohio, and currently resides in New Concord, Muskingum County, Ohio. Joe earned his Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from Marietta College in 2002 where he was a member of Pi Epsilon Tau – Marietta College Petroleum Engineering Honorary. Joe is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and the Ohio Oil and Gas Association (OOGA). Joe has served as Drilling & Completion Engineer for Artex Oil Company since 2008, and is responsible for planning the construction, managing the execution, and evaluating the cost of all oil and gas wells drilled by Artex from the identification of a potential drill site to placing the well into production. Prior to assuming his current role, he held positions with CNX Gas Company, Chevron Texaco Mid-Continent Business Unit and Chevron Texaco Gulf of Mexico Business Unit.


Heath Halstead, Drilling Supervisor	VCARD

Heath is from Bradley, Raleigh County, West Virginia and currently resides in New Concord, Muskingum County, Ohio. Heath has earned his Halliburton Drilling Fluid Engineering Training and Certification, Wild Well Control Schooling and Certification, and H2S Safety Certification. Heath is a member of the Ohio Oil and Gas Association (OOGA). Heath has served as Drilling Supervisor for Artex Oil Company since 2007 and is responsible for the day-to-day activities of the drilling rig. Prior to assuming his current role, he held positions with Halliburton and Northeast Mud Co.



LAND / LEGAL



Richard Dailey, Contract Land Agent	VCARD

Richard is from New Concord, Muskingum County, Ohio, and currently resides there. Richard is a Certified Professional Landman and has thirty (30) years of experience in the Oil and Gas Industry – primarily in Ohio and West Virginia. Richard currently serves on the Executive Committee as Past President of the Michael Late Benedum Chapter of the American Association of Professional Landmen (AAPL). He is also a member of the Ohio Oil and Gas Association (OOGA) and the Energy and Mineral Law Foundation.


Gary Frye, General Counsel	VCARD

Gary is from Fredericktown, Knox County, Ohio, and currently resides in Fleming, Washington County, Ohio. Gary earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from The Ohio State University in 1965, and his Juris Doctorate from The Ohio State University College of Law in 1967. Gary is a member of the American Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association, the Washington County Bar Association, and the Ohio Land Title Association. Gary has previously served as President of both the Ohio Land Title Association and the Washington County Bar Association, as well as Trustee of the Ohio State Bar Association Continuing Education Board. He has served as a member of the Board of Governors of the Ohio State Bar Association, and a member of the Washington County Board of Children Services. Additionally, Gary was a nine-year member of the Board of Directors for the Ohio Bar Liability Insurance Company (OBLIC). Gary has served as General Counsel for Artex Oil Company since 2006 and is responsible for title matters related to leases, title examination review, title opinion, and general corporate legal matters. Prior to assuming his current role, he was engaged in the private practice of law with the law firm of TheisenBrock in Marietta, Ohio for thirty-seven (37) years. While at TheisenBrock, his primary emphasis was on real estate and probate practice, but he also practiced in labor law, business associations, and general contract law.


Chad Spence, Associate General Counsel	VCARD

Chad is from Belpre, Washington County, Ohio, and currently resides there. Chad earned his Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from Marietta College in 2001 and his Juris Doctorate from Capital University Law School in 2005 where he graduated magna cum laude and was a member of the Capital University Law Review. Chad is a member of the American Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association, the Washington County Bar Association, the Ohio Oil and Gas Association (OOGA) and the Energy and Mineral Law Foundation. Chad currently serves on the Board of Trustees and as Chairman of the Legal Committee of the Southeastern Ohio Oil and Gas Association (SOOGA). He is licensed to practice law in both Ohio and West Virginia. Chad has served as Associate General Counsel for Artex Oil Company since 2010, and is responsible for title matters related to leases, title examination, title opinion, and general corporate legal matters. Prior to assuming his current role, he was engaged in the private practice of law as a sole practitioner in Vincent, Ohio. His primary emphasis was on oil and gas title examination, estate planning and probate practice, but also practiced in real estate, business associations, general contract law, and civil litigation.



ADMINISTRATIVE



Jeanetta Fulton, Office Manager	VCARD

Jeanetta (“Jeanie”) is from Williamstown, Wood County, West Virginia, and currently resides there. Jeanie has attended Marietta College, West Virginia University – Parkersburg, and Washington State Community College with a program in accounting and business management. Jeanie has served as Office Manager for Artex Oil Company since 1995. Her responsibilities include supervising the Accounting Department, addressing human resource concerns, payroll, employee insurance, corporate accounts payable and accounts receivable, preparing corporate tax filings, and managing the daily functions of the office. Prior to assuming her current role, Jeanie had fifteen (15) years experience in accounting, oil and gas distribution, office management, and executive assistance with companies doing business worldwide.


Debra Smith, Accountant	VCARD

Debra is from Lowell, Washington County, Ohio, and currently resides in Marietta, Washington County, Ohio. Debra earned her Bachelor of Arts in both Finance and Business Management from Marietta College in 2006 where she graduated Magna Cum Laude, and was selected as a member of Tau Pi Phi, Business Honorary Society. Debra also earned her Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Ohio University in 2007 where she was selected as a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, Business Honorary Society. Debra currently serves as Trustee of the Noble Learning Center. Debra has served as Artex Oil Company’s Accountant since 2007 and is responsible for overseeing and monitoring accounts payable, Joint Interest Billing (JIB), monthly distribution of royalties and reconciliation of accounts, oil and gas 945 withholding and severance tax reportings, preparing budget and variance analysis, accounting and reporting of oil and gas financial trading, and general accounting functions. Prior to assuming her current role, Debra served as a Business Development Consultant with Appalachian Regional Entrepreneurship Group (AREG), and as an Investment Assistant with Peoples Bank.


Carolyn Johnson, Accounts Receivable	VCARD

Carolyn lives locally and has served in the Accounting Department with Artex Oil Company since 2001. Her responsibilities include assisting with oil and gas marketing purchase agreements, as well as monitoring and reconciling revenue from the sale of oil and gas, production accounting, invoicing for domestic gas sales, liability insurance, maintaining well information, and works directly with all field personnel. Prior to assuming her current role, Carolyn served in a family-owned insurance company and later was in customer relations for a major manufacturing company.


Christine Weppler, Administrative Assistant	VCARD

Christine (“Chris”) is from Marietta, Washington County, Ohio and currently resides there. Chris has served as Administrative Assistant with Artex Oil Company since 2002 and is responsible for providing clerical support for staff, answering the telephones, transcription, maintenance of well charts, and filing documents. Prior to assuming her current role, Chris served for thirty-two (32) years as Office Manager/Administrative Assistant with a state and federal governmental agency.


Nancy Vannoy, Land Assistant	VCARD

Nancy is from Williamstown, Wood County, West Virginia, and currently resides in Lowell, Washington County, Ohio. Nancy has served as an assistant to the Land Department with Artex Oil Company since 2005 and is responsible for reviewing all oil and gas leases and right-of-ways taken by the Land Department, applying for state permits, compiling completion reports, updating files and recording of documents.
